“From the space program, we learn that tremendous power is needed to clear the pull of Earth’s gravity. So it is with breaking old habits. Breaking deeply embedded habits such as procrastinating, criticizing, overeating, or laziness involves more than a little wishing and willpower. Often our own resolve is not enough. We need reinforcing relationships — people and programs that hold us accountable and responsible.”
– Stephen R. Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, pg 46-47

Setting Yourself Up to Win in 2020 and Beyond – Getting Your New Year into Gear

To all our highly valued clients and acquaintances:

Happy New Year – and some people may call it the “goose egg blues”…
…starting the year off from scratch and re-harnessing our energies, getting professional activities freshly off the ground (and the proverbial launching pad), and getting ourselves into some level of gear & real-life momentum.

For years, I have repeatedly advocated the mantra, “So goes January, so goes Our 1st Quarter, so goes Our Year”. Whatever your hopes, dreams, aspirations and goals are for 2020, it is time to re-stoke your fires and set yourself up with structures for support and success to carry you forward.

As you may already know, it’s very rare that most of us will actually keep our resolutions for the whole year. According to U.S. News & World Report, approximately 80% of resolutions fail by the second week of February, so the odds are working against us. What exactly goes wrong in this process?

This may come as no surprise – there will likely be challenges. Maybe…

  • Our goals aren’t clear.
  • We feel overwhelmed.
  • We feel discouraged.
  • We’re not ready to change.

Several key recommendations – a mini-checklist for success, if you will:

  1. Pick a concrete & measurable goal – what are your Compelling Whys??
  2. Utilize the power of writing to clarify your Whys & Fully Animate Yourself
  3. Create plans to get all the help you want & need with support structures!
  4. Ensure you are continuously energized, inspired, motivated & engaged!!
  5. Gratefully celebrate your process, milestones & list of accomplishments!!

I like the idea of “Lifelong Transformation – One Healthy Habit at a Time”

It’s possible for us all to make this a Banner Year – a Year to Beat Our Best
And the key may be to keep ‘Forming Good Habits’

“Changing habits that are no longer consistent with your higher purposes is

one of the hardest things you’ll ever do, and

one of the most essential to the quality of your life

Remember, bad habits are easy to form, but hard to live with;

Good habits are hard to form but easy to live with.

Your job is to form good habits and make them your masters.”
-from Maximum Achievement – by Brian Tracy

May you follow through w great discipline & determination to get your victory!!

Let us know what you are up to and what you might be up against.

We look forward to expanding our relationship and our future efforts together.

Wishing for You a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous Banner Year in 2020
