Opportunities to Apply Creativity for Innovative New Beginnings, in the Face of Extraordinary Uncertainty and Transitions

“The biggest room in the world is the room for improvement.”

– Helmut Schmidt,  former Chancellor of West Germany

It’s a beautiful day, and I can’t see it… (1 minute, 47 seconds)
Don Sardella here, Business Coach for Financial Advisors and beyondTo all our highly valued clients and acquaintances:First of all, I appreciate the privilege to be communication with you. Thank you.

For many of us now, life is coming at us point blank. There is an inescapable impact & extraordinary uncertainty with this head-spinning changes of circumstances and events.

And, for many, the question is how to optimize our responses and change whatever we need to change in the face of all of it – especially the ways we think, the ways we speak, the ways we act, the ways we interact, the ways we live, the ways we work.

Paying attention to what’s most important is most important. Let’s keep learning forward

There is a new level of self-reflection and pensiveness going on right now, given that so much on so many levels has been stopped in its tracks. Fundamental questions arise…

…about our purpose, our value, our meaning and truth. Who doesn’t want to know that they and their loved ones will be ok? That they can still make a difference? Be fulfilled? Count for something? Live a long and healthy life and overall, be as happy as possible?

Necessity has often been cited as the mother of invention and extraordinary times have been cited as calling for extraordinary measures – know what we now know, now what?

Who are we going to become? What can we access, in terms of mindset, skills & tools?

This is going to go on for a while – let’s reconstitute – what can we give ourselves to work with? Taking all the help that we can get, let’s focus on progress, not perfection.

Our yesterdays do not have the power to determine our todays. This is a great time to get & stay connected to your best sources and resources – drink freshly from the wells.

I do not think we are to be undone by any sufferings – what can we learn and what will we learn? We can act out of circumstances or we can act out of a developmental vision.

I suggest that we Always Be Innovating. Test, experiment wisely, try this and try that.

It is practical and it’s a matter of practice and there is no substitute for practice. So…

How are we going to live? What are we saying to ourselves? To others? Words matter.

As shared in video above, “Change our words, change our world” – different outcomes.

Where might we have blind spots where we can rework it to change our world?

“The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday’s logic…” Peter Drucker (described as ‘father of modern management’)

Some people talk about these times as presenting opportunities for Collateral Beauty.
Here’s a brief exercise to jot notes, that may be a catalyst for your own growth:

What are you seeing that you never saw before, from a perspective that you never had?

What are you hearing now that you have never heard before, from other perspectives?

What are you discovering now that you never discovered before, that you never knew?

What are you learning or could you be learning? What can you now do with all of this?
Here are a few questions that I’ve been working on with colleagues:

How can we become expert at dealing w uncertainty and innovate in face of whatever?

How can we come out of these circumstances, healthier & better off than ever before?

How can we all contribute in ways that leave us all incredibly and indisputably fulfilled?

Our future script has not been written – we can all declare newly – what can yours be?
Always Be Innovating (ABI) It’s a matter of practice & there is no substitute for practice.

We get to try things we’ve never done – applies to everything / everywhere / everyone.

We’re all doing the best we can with what know – if we knew better, we would do better.
