Amid all the rapid change going on, who and what do you want to be? How can we make ourselves and those we love as happy as possible?

Don Sardella – HOW TO BECOME THE PERSON WE WANT TO BE 2:19 minutes

To all our highly valued clients and acquaintances:

Getting and keeping ourselves and others on the highest possible ground of positive perspective and practices seems to be the big order of the day.

As Bing Crosby used to sing, starting in 1944, “You’ve got to Ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive, Eliminate the negative, Latch on to the affirmative, Don’t mess with Mister In Between. No, don’t mess with Mister In Between.”

As I reflect on those lyrics, that was right at the end of World War II. In 1946, James Stewart considered “It’s a Wonderful Life” his favorite film.

Considering what they created and advocated during those trying times…

A perennial question that I often ask myself and others is: What are we doing to keep energized, inspired and motivated on a consistent basis?

These days, with the non-stop swirl of ideas flying around from every possible direction that we can imagine, how best to navigate ourselves?

The truth is hard to come by?? What are our reference points??

Back in “the day”, sailors traditionally navigated at sea by observing and understanding the movements of celestial bodies, primarily the sun and stars, to determine their position and direction. They used this knowledge, along with instruments, to calculate their course. What works best for us?

Does discerning trustworthy truth feel like we’re threading a needle?

Decisions, decisions. Is life full of tough choices??  It could be a general observation about the difficulty of making great choices, especially when faced with numerous options. Don’t we all need the best, most accessible resources and accurate, comprehensive critical thinking to make choices??

A book idea? Decision Time is a practical, growth-oriented guide to making better choices by understanding and overcoming barriers that lead to poor decisions. It blends insights from high-stakes professional environments with accessible advice for everyday life, empowering readers to approach life’s crossroads with confidence and clarity. Decision Time: How to Make the Choices Your Life Depends On (Inspirational Growth Mindset Book to Live a Fulfilling Life) – June 7, 2022. by Laurence Alison (Author), Neil Shortland (Author) 4.4 out of 5 stars

Universal Principles and Our Core Values can be like our North Star.

In this rapidly developing and emerging world age of AI, periodic “checkups from the neck up” may be best, to get and keep us current, relevant and optimal. We all have the continuous challenge to correct courses based upon new information – like a GPS, we often need to be recalculating.

What do we know? How do we know what we know? Trust but verify?

This time of year, is oft noted as Spring Cleaning. Good time to rethink?

As the trust-but-verify approach suggests, we can foster environments of trust as we maintain a degree of accountability and make support possible.

We can strike a healthy and productive balance between responsible independence and engagement while maintaining trust and mitigating risks.

Is a state of curiosity, fascination, discovery, and wonder all good??

We’re all doing the best we can with what we know – if we knew better, we’d do better. This has major implications for the total quality of our lives.

I encourage all to research and innovate – To Fully Self-Express/Contribute.

Given what we now have access to, like https://www.perplexity.ai/, WDYT?

Recently, to quickly get the gist, I asked it such research questions as:

  • What is the essence and the main points of the book, …??
  • What is (name) most know for and how credible/trustworthy are they?
  • What is most to love about and learn from the history/world of…??
  • Who are the 5 most popular and successful (whatever) in the last 80 years and to what do they attribute to their resounding success?

This allows for rapid access to topics of interest, as well as follow-up ideas.

Continuous R&D in today’s world is like the basic price of admission.

What kind of world would this world be if everyone in it were just like me?

Lifelong learning is a ridiculously obvious commitment to get/stay current – never mind possibly innovate. Without it, we can be obsolete in no time.

I’ve joked about being so far behind that sometimes I think I’m at the front of the line. 😊😊 One of my mentors said that I needed to run to catch up.

When I was in my youth, I was often advised to watch my language. ☹

Now I think of it more in terms of my own self-talk. It’s incredibly important!!

I’m on the lookout for anything that sounds like I am being a legend in my own mind, self-delusional, grandiose, Pollyanna, magical thinking, happy talking, patty caking, too happy-go-lucky or disconnected from any realities.

Other than that, I’m also interested in swinging for the fences and helping as many others as possible to do the same or better – to live life full out.

“The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know” -Einstein

As within, so without. What we see is what we’ll likely get. We become what we consistently think about most, especially when it is emotionalized.

We can all create crystal clear clarity for ourselves – generate a new script and develop a new cast, with fresh vision, reclarification and recommitment to core values. With a Zen concept of beginner’s mind, we can all start every new period with a blank mental canvass and a brand-new palette of bright, colorful paints from which to create, recreate and keep recreating.

Take all the help you can get and all the support that you can access.

Isn’t this obvious, by now?  Rory McIlroy, recent winner of the Masters Tournament, attributes a lot of his success to his coaches and mentors.

He credits his long-time swing coach, Michael Bannon, and his mental coach, Bob Rotella, for helping him manage his game and his mind. He acknowledged the guidance of influential figures, including Jack Nicklaus.

And may we remember to remember:

LIFE IN ABUNDANCE COMES ONLY THROUGH GREAT LOVE.

Without love, your life will echo with emptiness. With it, your life vibrates warmth and meaning. Even during times of hardship, love always shines through. There is no force more potent than love.

Take away love and your earth is a tomb.

If you have it, you don’t need to have anything else, and if you don’t have it, it doesn’t matter much what else you have. As you look back upon the events in your life you will find that the moments that stand out, the moments when you have really lived, are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love.

Therefore, search for love. Once you have learned to love, you’ll have learned to live.

Love is the most important ingredient of your success.

While we may be dealing with much uncertainty, now could be a great time to invest in cultivating visionary leadership, reimagining ways to collaborate and dialogue about exploratory ways that we might even innovate together.

Shall we set up a brief call to discuss/create what’s most important for you?

Let me know what will serve you best. I look forward to hearing from you.
